I worked for many years as a psychotherapist trained in the Jungian tradition. Based in Oxford, I have had a long interest in trauma and how to develop resilience in recovering from it. I am also profoundly aware of the climate, environmental and biodiversity crises facing us and how psychotherapeutic understandings can be in service to these issues.
I completed my training in Jungian Analytical Psychotherapy in 1995 and am UKCP registered and a member of the West Midlands Institute for Psychotherapy. I have worked as a psychotherapist for 25 years, Following a mental health background as a Consultant Psychiatrist, I worked as a Jungian Analytical Psychotherapist from 1995 to 2026
I have been interested for many years in the way that our inner and outer social and political worlds relate. I chaired Psychotherapists and Counsellors for Social Responsibility for some years and I have a particular interest in the psychological aspects of Climate Change. I chaired the Climate Psychology Alliance ain UK from 2020 to 2024 and have played major roles in its development since founding. I have worked with other organisations such as Royal College of Psychiatrists, Climate Minds Coalition in this area.
